The signs and symptoms of lung cancer



The signs and symptoms of lung cancer can take years to develop and they may not appear until the disease is advanced.


  1. When airways become constricted, blocked, or inflamed, 
  2. Cough might be more painful
  3. Cough have a different sound
  4. Cough bring up colored mucus or phlegm
  5. Coughing, especially if it persists or becomes intense
  6. Pain in the chest, shoulder, or back unrelated to pain from coughing
  7. A change in color or volume of sputum
  8. Shortness of breath
  9. Changes in the voice or being hoarse voice sounds deeper, hoarse, or raspier. 
  10. Lung cancer that has spread to the bones may produce pain in the back or in other areas of the body. 
  11. Recurrent lung problems, such as bronchitis or pneumonia
  12. Coughing up phlegm or mucus, especially if it is tinged with blood
  13. Headaches may be a sign that lung cancer has spread to the brain
  14. Coughing up blood
  15. You might have pain in your chest or shoulder. It could be a dull ache or a sharper pain.
  16. Loss of appetite or unexplained weight loss
  17. Muscle wasting (also known as cachexia)
  18. Fatigue
  19. Headaches, bone or joint pain
  20. Bone fractures not related to accidental injury
  21. Neurological symptoms, such as unsteady gait or memory loss
  22. Neck or facial swelling
  23. General weakness
  24. Bleeding
  25. Blood clots

Bowel or colon cancer, is cancer in any part of the colon or rectum common symptoms of bowel cancer can include:

  • A change in bowel habits, such as diarrhea, constipation, or narrowing of the stool, that lasts for more than a few days
  • A feeling that you need to have a bowel movement that is not relieved by doing so
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Dark stools, or blood in the stool
  • Weakness and fatigue
  • Sometimes, the cancer can cause a blockage (obstruction) in the bowel
  • Unintended weight loss
  • Blood in the stool
  • Pain in the right side of the abdomen or stomach
  • Leg swelling
  • Itching
  • Abdominal swelling
  • blood in, or on, your stools (bowel motions) – the blood may be bright red or dark
  • pain in the tummy (abdomen) or back passage
  • feeling that you haven’t emptied your bowel properly after a bowel motion
  • unexplained tiredness.

Common symptoms of blood cancers





The common symptoms of blood cancers can include:

  • Bleeding that’s not a part of your usual monthly cycle
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • The occurrence of fine rashes or dark spots throughout the body.
  • The occurrence of sudden bouts of chill and night sweating.
  • A fever that doesn’t go away and can't be explained
  • A change in the size, shape, or color of a mole or other spot
  • Feeling weak or breathless
  • Easily bruise or bleed
  • Difficulty while urinating
  • extreme tiredness that won’t go away isn’t normal.
  • trouble swallowing especially with vomiting or weight loss
  • Enlarged lymph nodes
  • Swollen stomach or abdominal discomfort
  • Frequent and repeated infections
  • Fever/night sweats
  • Pain in bones/joints
  • Itchy skin
  • Bone pain (ribs/back)

Common signs and symptoms of a brain tumor







The signs and symptoms of a brain tumor vary greatly and depend on the brain tumor's size, location and rate of growth.


  • Headaches, which may be severe and worsen with activity or in the early morning
  • New onset or change in pattern of headaches.
  • Single or multiple muscle twitches, jerks, spasms.
  • Gradual loss of sensation or movement in an arm or a leg.
  • Confusion in everyday matters and Problems balancing or walking
  • Loss of consciousness and body tone, followed by twitching and relaxing muscles that are called contractions
  • Unexplained nausea or vomiting Loss of control of body functions.
  • After this type of seizure a person may be sleepy and experience a headache, confusion, weakness, numbness, and sore muscles.
  • Change in sensation, vision, smell, and/or hearing without losing consciousness
  • May cause a loss of awareness or a partial or total loss of consciousness
  • May be associated with repetitive, unintentional movements, such as twitching
  • Personality or memory changes
  • Nausea or vomiting,Fatigue,Drowsiness,Sleep problems
  • Memory problems,Changes in ability to walk or perform daily activities
  • Symptoms that may be specific to the location of the tumor include:
  • Pressure or headache near the tumor
  • Loss of balance and difficulty with fine motor skills is linked with a tumor in the cerebellum.
  • Changes in judgment, including loss of initiative, sluggishness, and muscle weakness or paralysis is associated with a tumor in the frontal lobe of the cerebrum.
  • Partial or complete loss of vision is caused by a tumor in the occipital lobe or temporal lobe of the cerebrum.
  • Changes in speech, hearing, memory, or emotional state, such as aggressiveness and problems understanding or retrieving words can develop from a tumor in the frontal and temporal lobe of the cerebrum.
  • Altered perception of touch or pressure, arm or leg weakness on 1 side of the body, or confusion with left and right sides of the body are linked to a tumor in the frontal or parietal lobe of the cerebrum.
  • Inability to look upward can be caused by a pineal gland tumor.
  • Lactation, which is the secretion of breast milk and altered menstrual periods in women, and growth in hands and feet in adults are associated with a pituitary tumor.
  • Difficulty swallowing, facial weakness or numbness, or double vision is a symptom of a tumor in the brain stem.
  • Vision changes, including loss of part of the vision or double vision can be from a tumor in the temporal lobe, occipital lobe, or brain stem.
  • Seizures. Motor seizures, also called convulsions, are sudden involuntary movements of a person’s muscles. People may experience different types of seizures, including myclonic and tonic-clonic (grand mal). Certain drugs can help prevent or control them.

    Common stomach cancer symptoms




    Some common stomach cancer symptoms may include:

    1.     You might feel pain or a burning sensation when you        swallow, or your food may stick in your throat or chest.
    2.     Lack of appetite or unexplained weight loss is a common    sign of cancer.
    3.     Many stomach cancer patients experience a sense of  "fullness" in the upper abdomen after eating small meals.
    4.     Vague discomfort in the abdomen, usually above the navel
    5.     This is weight loss when you are not trying to lose weight.  Rarely, extreme weight loss can be a sign of an advanced  cancer.
    6.     Low red blood cell count (anemia)
    7.     Rarely, there is blood in the vomit. You may not be able to    see any blood if it is small amounts.
    8.     Indigestion, heartburn or symptoms similar to an ulcer may  be signs of stomach cancer
    9.     This can be because you have a reduced number of red  blood cells (anemia).
