Propaganda ( A technique used to convert a lie into truth)

Here i wish  share a little bit of knowledge with you
we all are aware of  about the word propaganda generally it is said that a manipulative approach and  technique that is used to convert a lie into truth.
Wikipedia defines as
"Propaganda is information that is not objective and is used primarily to influence an audience and further an agenda, often by presenting facts selectively to encourage a particular synthesis or perception, or using loaded language to produce an emotional rather than a rational response to the information that is presented. Propaganda is often associated with material prepared by governments, but activist groups and companies can also produce propaganda.  "
Propaganda is always based on lie may be based on half truth
Mr.  Paul Craig Roberts  explains as in his article "  The Reign of Propaganda "
"The more pure the lie, the more complete the success in turning it into The Truth. Lies partly based in fact or half-truths open themselves to factual challenge. For a propagandist the best lie is a lie unfettered by even a distant relationship to truth. Such a lie can be turned into such self-evident truth that no evidence is necessary. ”
Propaganda,is dissemination of information facts, arguments, rumors, half-truths, or lies—to influence public opinion.
it is also a systematic effort to manipulate other people’s beliefs, attitudes, or actions by means of symbols (words, gestures, banners, monuments, music, clothing, insignia, hairstyles, designs on coins and postage stamps, and so forth).
Modern propaganda uses all the media available to spread its message, including: press, radio, television, film, computers, fax machines, posters, meetings, door-to-door canvassing, handbills, buttons, billboards, speeches, flags, street names, monuments, coins, stamps, books, plays, comic strips, poetry, music, sporting events, cultural events, company reports, libraries, and awards and prizes. is most likely that some of these media uses are surprising, but that only serves to show how easy it is to not even recognize propaganda as such.
Knowing that you are susceptible to propaganda is only part of the battle. Below are five things you can do to mitigate its impact on you:
  1. Stop believing things unquestioningly. Just because it appears in your Facebook feed or was covered on the news, doesn’t make it true. Stop, question and think.
  2. Identify the aim of the message. Did it make you feel a certain way? Is the message encouraging you to do or think something – if yes, what? Don’t you feel manipulated?
  3. What is the source of the message? What do you know about them? Find out more. Who are they? What do they stand for? Who funds them? What is their aim?
  4. List the arguments made through the message – can you think of any counter arguments? How much do you really know about the subject? Go learn more – from multiple sources. Fact check for accuracy. Every disgusting new disease warning is just a Snopes away from refute.
  5. Listen to opposing views. Just because you think you are right, doesn’t make it so. Read the perspective from the other side, and try to suspend your ingrained views while doing it.

Let's Talk—Can We Guess Why Committed Investments Work For Us?

Tags

Life today is very complex involving a number of financial decisions on products, services and digital assets that you can invest into. However, for most people the unavailability of time and lack of financial knowledge surrounding these assets (digital and otherwise) ensures it is difficult to arrive at decisions easily.
As with anything in life, the sooner we get started on financial investment and saving money, the faster we begin to build our wealth and earn from it. On Steemit, even if you are earning only $5 on a post regularly, it would be wise to start saving it somewhere.
In the past few months I've had many friends ask me how I managed to earn a lot of SP starting from scratch and how I go about investing. The fact is that it's not what I invest into but more importantly that I'm dead serious about saving and investing consistently. I've learnt from my own experience that it's never too late to start planning your personal finances.

What are Committed Investments?

Ever plan your day or your week ahead? We give so much importance to planning our lives and the daily tasks we decide for ourselves but often ignore the importance of planning our investments.
We rush out of our home to meet our loved ones at a scheduled time but we never look at our financial commitments with the same level of importance. This is what leads to several issues in our lives. Often when you ask someone why they are worried, most common responses would include some element of a financial woe of one kind or the other.
Committed investments gives you a great risk cover and mental peace over a period of time. It's worth the hassle!

Importance of Financial Planning

The world revolves around money and if you are terrible with your personal finances, you will find yourself in debt pretty soon. One cannot ignore the time value of money, market volatility associated with stocks and cryptocurrencies, different investment products, insurance products as well risks resulting from year-on-year inflation.
As you can see, there are simply far too many things that you need to plan for, and if you cannot do it yourself, you must consider hiring a financial advisor to help build your portfolio. But start now, if you haven't already!

Evaluate your Assets and Liabilities and Family's Goals

If you are planning your personal finances and investments, it's important to make an assessment of your total assets, net worth and your current liabilities. Once you have these figured out then it gets easier to tend to the liabilities. If you're expenses outweigh your income then it needs to be addressed immediately.
Make a note of any family goals that needs a significant financial input and prioritize them based on their importance and needs. Sometimes a fancy new dining set might not be as important and fixing a leaky roof or bathroom fixtures or your child's school fees.

Importance of a Disciplined Saving Habit

Irrespective of what you wish to spend your money on, a regular contribution to savings or investment accounts often yields a good amount that can be used for something important in the long run. You will need to be extremely rigid with your saving habits in order to meet these financial goals. You cant expect to spend money quickly, regularly and expect to budget for a new car at whim and fancy.
Control your spending habit and try to automate your savings if possible. Being regular will cultivate a sense of responsibility and discipline within you very soon, and you will begin enjoying the process as you see the results from being disciplined.
Making an Investment Decision
You will need to introspect yourselves and find your most important needs and the extent of risk you are comfortable with. For example, cryptocurrencies tend to give you crazy returns in a matter of days or months but they are also extremely risky. If you are unwilling to sit tight through the low phase then it's best not to get into cryptocurrencies.
Personally speaking, I spread my risk across Cryptocurrencies, Stocks, Gold, Mutual Funds, Bank Fixed Deposits etc. Since I'm only 29, and my risk appetite is higher and the fact that I'm also comfortable with learning to trade exchanges, I have been able to make the most of my investments and grow my portfolio faster while ensuring I have set aside enough for a rainy day at any given point in time.
Anyone can learn the basics of investment, fundamentals of investing and market dynamics by setting aside a few minutes a day and learning about it.

Plan of Action to Meet Future Goals

Write down a plan that states all your immediate and long term future goals and chalk out a financial plan that includes high risk and high yield investments to low-risk traditional investments that is a stable store of value.
This will make it easier for your to plan buying a new house, having a baby and meeting it's future expenses, a new car or regular forieng travel for vacations.

4 Things to Remember when Making an Investment

  1. Always keep some money aside in a bank or any traditional savings account or method to maintain liquidity in case of emergencies. You don't want your 100% of money stuck in any asset class which you cannot withdraw for an immediate use.
  2. I found it highly encouraging to keep some amount of my portfolio in the stock market to help beat the inflation. Now, cryptocurrencies allow me to use my experience and do one better. Inflation is caused due to various reasons including but not limited to increasing supply of fiat currency and as the value of the money we hold continues decreases, we need more of it to buy anything of value. High yield investments come with substantial risk but they can get us ahead of the curve.
  3. Review your finances and financial planning annually. Take help from a financial advisor or learn how to do it yourselves. Set aside atleast 1 day in the year to get this done. I tend to review my portfolio regularly and adjust it every quarter.
  4. Include investments that gives you some kind of a tax rebate. Many times when I donate I get a tax rebate of my donations well. Many governments in the world give tax consideration to certain investment classes and you can do well to consider those in your portfolio as well.
Do you have a systematic investment plan? What strategies you use to ensure you save on a regular basis and grow your income? I'd love to read your thoughts in the comments below.
Disclaimer: I'm not a financial advisor and this is not a financial advise. It is my personal opinion and should be treated as such.

If you like my work kindly resteem it to your friends. You may also continue reading my recent posts which might interest you:

The Dangers of Artificial Sweeteners: Obesity, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and Heart Disease

Tags

Diets are all the rage, and it's big business. Practically each year (for decades now) some new diet shows up claiming to be the best one, because they say so. But does it actually provide a healthy nutritional profile?

Whether you're on an actual diet or not, there are plenty of so-called "diet" foods for you to buy and consume. There are all kinds of diet foods that take out fat but replace it with sugar, which isn't much better, maybe it's even worse. Refined sugar can become an addiction and it's not at all healthy for us.
I think one of the oldest forms of diet manipulations has come in the form of "diet" drinks, like soft drinks or other liquids that have artificial sweeteners replacing refined or processed sugars. If you're worried about your diet, then you better pickup and Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, or diet something else, at least that's what this marketing hype is trying to convince you of. Buy artificial sweeteners because those are better than sugar. Is this really the case? No.

Artificial sweeteners are often excitotoxins and can alter your brain chemistry, overstimulating neuron receptors that can become exhausted. They make your taste buds go wild, making food taste better. But all that brain overstimulation can result in brain cells burning out and dying. This is something I knew before.
I know that some people are taking diet drinks with artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose or stevia in order to combat being overweight or having diabetes. People are convinced to stay away from sugars, even thinking that natural fruit sugars are bad for them, yet they still want something sweet so they run for the artificial sweeteners. But artificial sweeteners have been linked to increasing the risk of obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.
I knew about this before too, but there is a recent study in the Canadian Medical Association Journal that brings this back into the news, so it's another chance for people to wake up and stop taking these dangerous substances that are "FDA approved". A systematic review of 37 studies that followed 400,000 people for 10 years. Only 7 studies were randomized, with about 1000 people followed for an average of 6 months.
It's clear that artificial sweeteners do not show a consistent effect on weight loss. Furthermore, longer observational studies show a link between artificial sweeteners and a higher risk of weight gain, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and other health issues.

Aspartame has been in the news for years about how harmful is. You can go research this on how it was discovered, and how evidently harmful it is an large doses, yet in smaller doses it doesn't have an immediate demonstration of how harmful it is. But go look into it yourself, and raise your awareness of how you are being poisoned by the food around. Aspartame has even changed it's name over the years to avoid being identified (NutraSweet, Equal), even now being marketed as a "natural sweetener" under the name AminoSweet. Lies, lies, lies.
Many years ago, I tried to help someone who had diabetes, yet was drinking diet soft drinks as a way to "mitigate" diabetes, because diet soft drinks and artificial sweeteners are "better" they believed. I tried to explain to them how not to trust the marketing of these food industries, that artificial sweeteners were worse than sugar and made diabetes worse. But they just told me that if it was true that they were being lied to they didn't want to know. They said they were going to keep buying it because that's what they prefer to believe. You can't help people that don't want the help, esepcailly if they don't want to face reality.
This is the insanity of the world we currently live in. People don't care about what's true. They just want to believe in whatever fantasy they want to believe in so they can keep doing whatever they are doing.
Companies can market and advertise things to people. People believe it, and the companies make money by making people unhealthy. If you want to pay someone to give you something that damages your body, then that's all "good" in our society. Education to know what you're actually doing? Nah... just let people stay ignorant and support bad food companies that don't give a shit about people, just the money.
I can tell you that I have never liked diet drinks. They always tasted like shit to me. It's not a good tasting sweetener. I don't drink soft drinks at all anymore, and haven't for years.
Do you drink regular soft drinks?
Do you drink diet drinks?
How do you like the taste of artificial sweeteners?
Did you know about any of these issues with artificial sweeteners?
If you have been drinking diet soft drinks or the like, will you learn more in order to stop "poisoning" yourself?

Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.

Physical Activity is Good for Your Brain and Helps Prevent Dementia

Tags

Aerobic exercise is known to be good for our brains. It helps improve neuronal plasticity and stimulates the creation of new neurons(neurogenesis). A decade ago this was just coming out, but it's been confirmed more since then. Exerciseis the new preventative medicineagainst cognitive impairment and dementia from old age, like a "miracle-grow" for the brain.
Physical exercise not only can benefit the metabolism of our bodies, but it also affects the energy metabolism of our brain. New research published in Translational Psychiatry involved 60 participants in a SMART study (Sport and Metabolism in Older Persons). They were all examined before and after a 12 week period of 30-minute training-sessions 3 times per week.
At the end, researchers were able to see how much of an effect physical activity had on brain metabolism, in addition to how it affected their overall physical fitness levels. As expected, physical exercise helps improve cardiac efficiency, and it also has an effect in protecting brain cells. 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity 3x/week will prevents an increase in cerebral choline levels in the brain, whereas the control group that didn't exercise had choline levels increase. Choline levels keep increasing as we get older and it has been linked to the loss of brain functions, such as those associated with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease.
I've noticed many breakthroughs this year in Alzheimer's. If you weren't aware, here is some of the research that has come out this year. Science is making progress in learning about how brain diseases work, making solutions or cures that much more possible. There are genes that have been linked to the disease, as well as sleep disorders.
And that's only for July and June 2017, plus there are some that I didn't add from this one site that related to Alzheimer's, like the recent study on pollutants in our cars while in traffic being 2x higher than the road-side testers indicated. This pollution puts oxidative stress which is thought to play a role in many diseases like Asperger's syndrome, ADHD, cancer, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis, heart failure and heart attack, sickle cell disease, autism, infection, chronic fatigue syndrome and depression.
There seems to be a lot more scientific interest in Alzheimer's and neurodegenerative brain diseases this year. I hope it keeps up and we can find a way to remove this brain-death from humanity. Don't underestimate the power of exercise for both the body and mind. Move each day until you die :)
I have to admit I'm not much of an exerciser. I rollerblade places, and do some weights now and then, and use my exercise bike a bit. But I should really get into it more.
How are you on exercise?
Do you know you need to do it more but put it off?
Are you a couch potato or exercise champion?

Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.

Here's how I finally fixed my junky home Wi-Fi

Here's how I finally fixed my junky home Wi-Fi

Until this past week, I wasn't able to get a steady Wi-Fi connection in most rooms of my house.
Then I tried a new solution called "mesh networking" and fixed everything in minutes.
Here's some background: If I sat downstairs in my 1920s colonial, I might be lucky enough to get a fast enough connection to browse the web from my living room or dining room. Anything further, like the Amazon Echo in my kitchen, just couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi router in my den. Streaming movies upstairs was out of the question.

Fighting plaster and lathe walls

It wasn't necessarily my router's fault. My house is loaded with plaster and lathe walls that destroy Wi-Fi signals. Knowing this was going to be a problem no matter what router I had in my home office, I set out to try mesh networking.

Twinkle, twinkle, littlest star: Universe's smallest star discovered

The smallest star ever recorded — one about the size of Saturn — has been discovered by a team of astronomers, according to a study released Tuesday. With the unwieldy name of EBLM J0555-57Ab, the star is located some 600 light-years away in our Milky Way galaxy.
The star is probably as small as stars can be, astronomers say, since it has just enough mass for the hydrogen fusion process to take place. (This is the process that powers stars like our sun, which creates the heat and light that sustains all life on Earth.)

If the star were any smaller, the pressure at the center of the star would no longer be sufficient enough to enable this process to take place.

Migraine Symptoms Causes Treatment

What is migraine?

Migraine is a complex condition with a wide variety of symptoms. For many people the main feature is a painful headache. Other symptoms include disturbed vision, sensitivity to light, sound and smells, feeling sick and vomiting. Migraine attacks can be very frightening and may result in you having to lie still for several hours.

The symptoms will vary from person to person and individuals may have different symptoms during different attacks. Your attacks may differ in length and frequency. Migraine attacks usually last from 4 to 72 hours and most people are free from symptoms between attacks. Migraine can have an enormous impact on your work, family and social lives.

Migraine Symptoms

What you should do if you experience migraine symptoms:
  • Keep track of each migraine attack in a journal. Write down the date and time the pain occurs, what you were doing immediately before the pain started, if anything changed about your normal routine and how long the pain lasts.
  • Also write down any migraine symptoms you experience, such as vision change, nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity etc.
  • Write down what makes your migraine symptoms improve and what makes them worsen.
  • Does your migraine journal show a pattern? For example, are there certain foods that trigger migraines? Or do the migraines occur after a certain change in your routine such as increased stress, a sleepless night or after skipping meals?
  • Try avoiding any migraine triggers you identified, to see if the migraines go away.
  • Find out if anyone in your immediate family is a migraine sufferer, since migraines tend to run in families.
  • If the migraines continue, take all of the information you’ve gathered to a doctor who specializes in treating migraines.

The main symptom of a migraine is usually an intense headache on one side of the head. The pain is usually a moderate or severe throbbing sensation that gets worse when you move and prevents you from carrying out normal activities.

In some cases, the pain can occur on both sides of your head and may affect your face or neck.

Other symptoms commonly associated with a migraine include:
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • increased sensitivity to light and sound – which is why many people with a migraine want to rest in a quiet, dark room
  • sweating
  • poor concentration,
  • feeling very hot or very cold
  • abdominal (tummy) pain
  • diarrhoea
Not everyone with a migraine experiences these additional symptoms and some people may experience them without having a headache.

The symptoms of a migraine usually last between four hours and three days, although you may feel very tired for up to a week afterwards.

Symptoms of migraine can start a while before the headache, immediately before the headache, during the headache, and after the headache. Although not all migraines are the same, typical symptoms include:
  • Moderate to severe pain, usually confined to one side of the head, but can occur on either side of the head.
  • The pain is usually a severe, throbbing, pulsing pain.
  • Increasing pain during physical activity or when straining.
  • Inability to perform regular activities due to pain.
  • Feeling sick and physically vomiting.
  • Increased sensitivity to light and sound, relieved by lying quietly in a darkened room.
  • Some people experience other symptoms such as sweating, temperature changes, stomach ache, anddiarrhea.

Unfortunately, scientists have yet to identify a cause. The best way to avoid migraines is to avoid what starts them in the first place. Migraine trigger are unique to each person, and it’s not uncommon for a person to have several migraine triggers. The most common migraine triggers include:
  • Salty foods or aged foods, such as cheese and salami, may cause migraine headaches. Highly processed foods can also trigger a migraine.
  • People with a history of migraines shouldn’t skip meals or fast, unless it’s done under a doctor’s supervision.
  • Alcohol and caffeine may cause these headaches.
  • Some artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame, can trigger a migraine. The popular preservative monosodium glutamate (MSG) can, as well. Read labels to avoid them.
  • Unusually bright lights, loud noises, or strong smells, may set off a migraine headache; flashlights, bright sun, perfume, paint, and cigarette smoke, are all common triggers.
  • Hormone shifts are a common migraine trigger for women. Many women report developing migraine headaches right before or even during their period. Others report hormone-induced migraines during pregnancy or menopause. That’s because estrogen levels change during these time and can trigger a migraine episode.
  • Medications, such as birth control and hormone replacement therapies, can trigger or worsen a migraine. However, in some cases, these medicines can actually reduce a woman’s migraine headaches.
  • Constant mental stress can cause migraines. Home life and work life are two of the most common sources of stress and can damage your mind and body if you can’t control it effectively.
  • Extreme exercise, physical exertion, and even sexual activity can trigger migraine headaches.
  • If you’re not getting regular, routine sleep, you may experience more migraines. Don’t bother trying to “make up” for lost sleep on the weekends, either. Too much sleep is just as likely to cause a headache as too little.

Different Natural Migraine Remedies

Migraines can be a debilitating disorder. The World Health Organization says severe migraine attacks can be as disabling as quadriplegia. Migraine sufferers seek treatment that can prevent migraine attacks, make them less frequent, stop symptoms once they’ve started or at least make the migraine symptoms less severe.
